I found the following about him on IDCA:

He is a shaikh that Allah has blessed with lots of knowledge, secular and Islamic.

A scientist - He holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Texas at Arlington, USA. He has worked as Assistant Professor of Physics, University of Northern Iowa, USA.

A Shaikh - A personal friend and student of Shaykh Nāsir ud-Dīn al-Albānī (Rahimahullaah). Chaired al-Qur’ān was-Sunnah Society of North America.

Author of a more than 20 books on Islam in English. By far the largest number by any other author that I know of. Here is a list of his books .
